More than 200 primary school children and staff have taken part in a mile-long walk to raise money for people in Bangladesh.
Pupils from St Edward's Catholic Primary School in Darwen left the school grounds on March 4 and took to the surrounding streets in support of CAFOD's Lent Appeal.
Every year the school chooses CAFOD as its Lenten charity and this year, the children are hoping to help transform the lives of people living overseas, particularly in Bangladesh, who have been affected by drought, floods and storms.
Headteacher at St Edward’s, Vanessa Knowles, said: "Fundraising for and learning about CAFOD gives our children a global awareness.
"They know that there are people living around the world who might have different experiences to them, and it allows them to give a little back.
"The children absolutely love getting involved and are so proud of themselves. The walk inspires them to do more and ignites ideas in their minds of what they can do next.
"Because the whole school come together to do this, it is a great example of community and our pupils know that they’re making a difference to lives around the world."
Each child donated a pound to the international development charity and by the end of Lent the school are aiming to have raised around £300.
