REGARDLESS of which team you support, it is well-known that Lancashire has some of the most loyal and proud football fans the country has to offer.

From Blackburn Rovers winning the Premiership title in 1995, to falling into League One in 2017 to Burnley reaching the Europa League, fans have stuck by their teams through it all.

Football has been part of East Lancashire for more than 140 years, with Rovers forming in 1875, Burnley FC in 1882 and Accrington Stanley in 1968.

Rovers currently hold one more top flight title than Burnley FC, with their first coming in the 1911/1912 season.

Burnley FC’s last First Division title came in 1960, and last won a title in 2016, when they clinched top spot in the Championship and were promoted into the Premier League.

Rovers do hold six FA Cups compared to Burnley’s one.
