PAMPERED pooches were in for a pawsome treat at the launch of a cafe’s brand new event – afternoon tea for dogs.

Sanwitches Cafe in Sabden was packed out on Sunday afternoon as hungry hounds descended on the village to indulge on a weekend treat.

Including cherry barkwells, puppawchinnos and and dogestives, the afternoon tea is the brainchild of cafe owner Christine Moore and her good friend Dianne Murphy.

Ms Murphy, who bakes all of the treats from scratch, is also the owner of Millie and Ruby’s Dog Bakery.

Christine said: “The launch was a real success and it was wonderful to have so many people in the shop.

“All of the treats are homemade by Dianne and strictly dog-friendly. They’ve all been lovingly made to represent items on a human afternoon tea - sandwiches, cakes and biscuits.”

Dianne and Christine require 24-hours notice so they can freshly prepare the teas.
