AN investigation has been launched after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by a fellow resident at a care home.
The incident is said to have happened in a bedroom of the Blackburn home, which cannot be named for legal reasons.
Police are now working with social services on the investigation. A police spokesman said: “We were called at around 1.10pm on Sunday to reports of a sexual assault at a care home in Blackburn.
“It was reported a male resident had assaulted a female resident. A joint investigation with social services is now underway.”

A council spokesman said: “Blackburn with Darwen Council’s adult social care department is working with the police to assist with this investigation.”
