POLICE who have spent four months investigating an attack which left a man with a broken jaw have just released a CCTV image of a suspect.
The assault happened between 4.30 and 6pm on October 14, when a man and his friend were walking along Queen Victoria Street, Mill Hill, Blackburn with two dogs.
Then three men, believed to be in their 20s, drove past the victim and his friend in a dark car, possibly a Ford Fiesta.
The vehicle turned down Mill Hill Street and minutes later, they approached the victim and one of the men punched him on the left side of his face.
Officers say they have been conducting extensive enquiries and trawling CCTV in the area.
DC Mark Parrington, said: “We appreciate that this incident happened some time ago, and I’d like to reassure you that we’ve been doing a lot of work behind the scenes to try and identify the man in the CCTV.
“Despite our best efforts, we’ve been unable to identify him and we’re now asking for the public’s help.
"If you recognise this man, please get in touch as soon as possible. We need to speak to him in connection with our investigation.”
