A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of raping a child and selling cocaine.

The 30-year-old, from Nelson, has today been charged with three offences, including raping a girl under 16, money laundering and possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

He was one of two men arrested at a home in Nelson earlier this morning by local officers.

The second man, aged 19, has been charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

Police said they found a large amount of cash, mobile phones and suspected cocaine at the house.

Both men are in custody while enquiries continue, police said.
