BURNLEY Under-23 boss Steve Stone believes talented defender Anthony Glennon has a bright future at the club.

The left-sided defender has been in fine form the Clarets youngsters, who have won their last three Professional Development League matches.

And Glennon, who captains the side, has been key to that run of form, producing key performances at centre half and at left back following the departure of Ali Koiki to League Two side Swindon Town on loan.

"He is exceptional wherever he plays," said Stone of the 19-year-old who joined the Clarets in the summer after leaving Liverpool where he had been since the age of six. "He is exceptional in terms of how he drives and leads this team because he is captain of this team now.

"He drives it from centre half, he is not a big centre half and he has been unbelievable alongside Bobby Thomas and I keep saying to people how brilliant he has been.

"It is the same name that comes out and I think everyone else says the same thing.

"Then to push him to left back and be as good as he was again after not playing there for months is a testament to what he is about."
