BURNLEY'S Pike Hill Library will reopen next week.

It will be the 14th of 26 closed by the previous Labour administration in 2016 to be brought back into use by the current Conservative leadership of Lancashire County Council.

The library, on Langwyth Road, will be reopened on Wednesday February 20 at 1pm by Burnley Rural's County Cllr Cosima Towneley

Other East Lancashire libraries already re-opened include Burnley Campus, Oswaldtwistle, Whalley and Earby.

County Cllr Towneley said: "We're very glad to be getting our library back and I'm delighted to be given the honour of reopening it.

"Libraries are one of the most important services we deliver, and they are very highly valued. People have really missed their library and I couldn't be more pleased that we are delivering on our commitment to reopen it."

Pike Hill Library will open on Tuesdays from 1pm to 7pm; Wednesdays from 9am to 1pm; Friday from 1pm to 5pm; and Saturdays from 9am to 1pm.
