A SMALL rubbish fire was put out by firefighters last night.
Fire services from Burnley were called out at 8pm on Tuesday, after a bin compound behind the Vincent Farrell Community Centre was deliberately set on fire in Temple Street, Burnley.
Two fire engines were sent out and put the fire out within 10 minutes. Although nobody was hurt during the incident, fire services warned about the dangers of causing deliberate fires.
A spokesman for the fire services, said: "If people cause deliberate fires they waste our time, and there could be more serious fires to attend to in Burnley.
"Fire services would then have to come from Nelson and Padiham, which would cause a delay and potentially put people's lives at risk."
