A motorway lane has reopened after two cars crashed.
The first lane eastbound between junction five at Guide and junction six, Whitebirk on the M65 after the cars collided just before 7.50am.
Traffic had backed up to junction 4, at Darwen, due to the crash.
Motorists were advised to avoid the motorway if possible.
A police spokesman said the cars and pieces of debris were removed from the motorway and the lane was reopened once it was clear.
No one suffered any serious injuries.
