A POPULAR tribute music festival is ready to rock the borough again this summer.

Festwich will return to St Mary's Park in Prestwich on July 27 and 28.

The event is the UK's largest free tribute festival and this year promises to the biggest yet. More than 30 acts have already been announced including to tributes to Prince, David Bowie, Kings of Leon, Duran Duran and Linkin Park.

Festwich organiser Jools Taylor said: “The secret of its success is no secret, it’s simply giving people what was promised from the offset and giving free tickets away.

"The fact the tickets are free is the core of the feelgood factor for the festival revellers, it’s a genuine offering which in turn is reciprocated by the masses with a heartfelt outpouring of affection for the festival.

"You won’t find corporate cynicism at Festwich it’s something we despise. Having witnessed some of the festival giants squeezing every penny and obsessing with year on year maximised profits, Festwich set out to be the antidote."

Free tickets are available from 10am at festwich.com and for ticketline.co.uk
