A WEDDING ring which had got stuck on a man's finger had to be removed by the fire service.
Firefighters were called to Royal Blackburn Hospital at around 7.30pm today to carry out the ring removal procedure.
A small tool was used to cut through the ring to minimise injuries to the man's hand.
A fire service spokesman said the procedure was successful but the man stayed at the hospital for further tests.
