A MAN has been charged following a crash in which two children were injured.

An eight-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy suffered bruising following the crash involving a Vauxhall Vectra and Ford Focus in Roundhill Road, Haslingden, on August 16.

The children were passengers in the Vauxhall Vectra and were taken to Manchester Children’s Hospital.

The driver of the Ford Focus, a 48-year-old man from Haslingden, suffered broken bones and was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital.

The Vauxhall driver, a 34-year-old man from Haslingden, suffered bruising.

Following a five month investigation, a 34-year-old man, from Haslingden, has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He has also been charged with driving while over the prescribed limit and is due to appear before Blackburn magistrates.

A police spokesman said: “Following a full investigation into a serious collision on Roundhill Road, Haslingden in August 2018, a 34 year old man from Haslingden has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while over the prescribed limit.”
