A COMMUNITY organisation are celebrating after reopening a number of walking paths in an area of natural beauty.
Sunnyhurst Woods in Darwen had many of its footpaths closed to the public due to flooding, but on Sunday, Friends of Sunnyhurst Woods, the group who take care of the space, were delighted after they got the go ahead to reopen some of the footpaths.
Darwen Labour Councillor, Dave Smith, said: "Friends of Sunnyhurst Woods were lobbying for a long time to get the paths reopened after landslides caused them to close, so this reopening is good news all round."
