A SUPPORTED living scheme has been praised in a report by a health watchdog.
Blackburn with Darwen and East Lancashire Domiciliary and Supported Living Scheme is part of Blackburn-based charity Creative Support Limited.
Care Quality Commission Inspectors have rated the service as good following an unannounced two day-inspection in November.
The service is registered to provide 24-hour care and support to adults who have learning or physical disabilities or mental health needs.
People using the service are tenants who live mainly in a variety of shared houses across East Lancashire that are staffed on a 24-hour basis.
Watchdogs rated the service as outstanding for its effectiveness, saying that it challenged healthcare professional's views of learning disabilities and promoted equality.
It was also rated good for its safety, care, responsiveness and leadership.
A CQC report reads: "The service was outstanding.
"People received an optimum quality of life and positive experiences.
"Outcomes for people had improved which impacted positively on their quality of life."
