A WOMAN and two men arrested on suspicion of affray after a disturbance outside a Blackburn pub have been released under investigation, police have confirmed.

Police were called to the Lord Raglan Hotel, on King's Road, shortly after 1am on New Year's Day to reports of a brawl involving around 10 people.

A police inspector was taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm after chasing the brawlers. 

In the aftermath of the incident a 24-year-old woman from Blackburn , a 26-year-old man from Blackburn and a 31-year-old man from Blackburn were all arrested.

Police have today confirmed all three have since been released as investigations into the incident are continuing.

Inspector Dave Clark said: "There was a report of a fight which required a lot of officers to attend."

Several officers from other county divisions were called to come to the aid of the local police force.

This incident was one of 300 made to police after midnight last night as revellers' celebrations got out of control.
