A WOMAN was taken to hospital in the early hours of the morning following a chip pan fire in her home.
Fire crews were called to an address on Glenfield Close in Blackburn just before midnight on Monday.
When they arrived they found a woman, believed to be in her 50s, suffering from smoke inhalation. She was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital in an ambulance where she remains.
A spokesman for the fire service said: "Firefighters from Hyndburn and Great Harwood attended a fire involving a chip pan at a domestic property on Glenfield Close, Blackburn.
There was one casualty at the scene who was given oxygen therapy by firefighters.
"The fire was extinguished using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a ventilation unit. The casualty was then left in the care of ambulance crews at the scene."
