MOCK exams and re-sits are coming up for many students. At this time of year this can be a challenging time for our children with the increased pressure of preparing for and enjoying the festive season.
The secret with good study techniques is to have regular, good-quality intervals of study, rather than sitting at a table looking at study materials for hours on end.
Encourage your child to find a place where it is warm, quiet and without distractions for study.
Regular breaks and 'brain food', as well as a smattering of fresh air during the study day, helps to prepare your child for effective study.
A study plan prepared now will give structure and a realistic framework for the coming weeks.
Aiming to get a good balance of festive fun and putting a good shift in with studying will work best.
Don't underestimate the power of hugs, encouragement and a good dose of empathy when helping your children with this stressful time!
