CHARITY workers from Blackburn-based Al-Khair Foundation have visited Indonesia to deliver support following an Earthquake.
Volunteers have organised relief efforts and delivered supplies to devastated regions following the 7.5 magnitude quake, which triggered a six-metre high tsunami in September.
More than 1,500 lives have been lost as a result of the disaster, with thousands more injured or left homeless.
Zubair Vali, the masjid liaison officer and events coordinator at the foundation said Blackburn businesses and mosques have supported the charity with aid.
He said: "It’s been inspiring to see the community of Blackburn rally together and help raise money for the desperate victims in Indonesia.
"The generosity has been amazing and it means so much to the people who have so little."
Al-Khair Foundation’s emergency appeal is still ongoing and asks for donations of £50 towards food and water, £75 towards medical supplies and hygiene kits and £100 towards temporary shelter.
