RESIDENTS of a town devastated by 2015's Boxing Day floods will get the chance to have their say on measures to prevent any repeat of the disaster.

The Environment Agency will hosta drop in session in Padiham later this month to discuss measures to manage flood risks and prevent any future deluge,

It will be from 3pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday 27 November in the Town Hall on Burnley Road which was itself badly damaged three years ago.

The agency has conducted extensive work to identify the best ways of investing 4.9million of government and Lancashire Local Enterprise Partnership. cash for improved flood defences

Much of it will pay for new flood defences along the River Calder and Green Brook and boost the Townscape Heritage Initiative on ‘The Hill’.

The session will provide an overview of work done so far, highlight the latest developments, discuss measures taking place to better manage flood risk in the town and give residents the opportunity to join a community emergency resilience group.
