A lucky woman has won a CAR in a raffle that has raised £27,455 for a hospice.
Donna Lawrenson, of Accrington won the white Mini when her ticket was drawn by Pendle Mayor, Cllr James Starkie at the Pendleside Hospice's annual car raffle.
In its 30th year, the hospice sold 13,000 tickets, and raised £27,455 over the years in total. Mrs Lawrenson bought 10 tickets as her yearly custom, but was not expecting to win.
The 47-year-old said: "It was a weird feeling to begin with and it didn’t properly sink in until I drove the car from the forecourt. It’s a once in a lifetime prize and I didn’t expect to get the keys! I pick my nephews up from school every Monday and now they’re always looking for where I’ve parked, saying ‘where’s the Mini?’"
Mrs Lawrenson had the option of choosing the car or £10,000 cash, and chose the car as hers was needing repairs.
