A LOLLIPOP lady was taken to hospital after being hit by a car.
Police said the 76-year-old woman was hit by a Vauxhall Corsa outside St Augustine of Canterbury RC Primary School in Burnley at 8.50am.
A North West Ambulance Service spokesman said the woman was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital with leg and facial injuries.
A police spokesman said: "No arrests have been made and the Corsa driver stopped at the scene."
Head teacher of the primary school, Sinead Colbeck said: "Following an incident outside the school this morning our crossing patrol person was injured and needed hospital treatment.
"No children were in the road at the time of the accident.
"Our thoughts are with our injured colleague and everyone at the school wishes her a speedy recovery."
