RAILWAY enthusiasts young and old were back on track for a model day out.
Blackburn & East Lancs Model Railway Society held its annual exhibition at Darwen Vale High School on Saturday and Sunday.
Hobbyists brought their own sets and fans wondered at the intricate displays on show. It was the society's 53rd annual exhibition.
Established in 1965, the society held its first show in October of that year. Shows continued in Blackburn's King George's Hall until 2010.
This year, the new location was Darwen Vale High School.
The society has built many layouts over the years.
current layouts have won many trophies at shows throughout the country in recent years.
In 2011 the society moved to its present headquarters in the Business Centre of Oswaldtwistle Mills.
Access to a library of more than 1,000 books is one perk of being a member of the society.
