Ellenshaw Close in Darwen
A PERSON was taken to hospital after a kitchen fire broke out in a home.
Firefighters were called to Ellenshaw Close in Darwen at around 6.35pm yesterday after a container had been left on a cooker and melted.
A fire service spokesman said crews used a ventilation unit to remove the smoke from inside the house.
The spokesman said: "One person was taken to hospital suffering the effects of smoke inhalation."
