Police are urging people to stay vigilant and keep their cars secure after a number of vehicles were broken into.

Posting on Facebook on Thursday October 11, Ribble Valley police warned residents in Clitheroe to be aware of a number of thefts that had taken place from cars in the last 72 hours.

Police said: "Thieves have targeted vehicles parked on drives and on the streets in the following areas: Woone Lane, Pimlico Road, Stephen Mews, Edward Drive and Elizabeth Court."

The majority of the thefts had taken place overnight and at least three of the vehicles involved were left unsecured by their owners.

Police also stated that in each case, the offenders were targeting items left on display inside the cars.

They are urging people to lock their cars and take any items that can't be hidden away out of the vehicles.
