A SAFE containing a large amount of cash was stolen in the middle of the night by thieves.
A travel agents on Bank Street, Rawtenstall, was broken in to at around 2am on Thursday morning and a safe containing foreign currency was taken.
Most of the currency was in Euros and US dollars, but Brazilian reais, Kenyan shillings, Malaysian ringgit, Mexican peso and Singapore dollars, were also among the stash.
Police are now appealing for information.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "If you have any information on either the burglary or anyone trying to spend or exchange foreign currency who you are suspicious off, please contact Lancashire police on 101, quoting log number 292 11th October 2018."
