A MAN who broke into a compound and stole satellite navigation and stereo systems out of two vans
was seen by a witness going into his house.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Craig Kennedy's actions had put two of Karcher's four vans off the road and the offence would affect the firm's insurance rates.
Kennedy, 50, of High Street, Colne, pleaded guilty to two charges of theft from a motor vehicle on August 6.
He was made subject to a community order for 12 months with six months drug rehabilitation activity requirement and 20 days rehabilitation activity requirement. He was ordered to pay £300 compensation and an £85 victim surcharge.
Catherine Fell, defending, said Kennedy had committed the offences because he was having difficulty with benefits following his release from prison.
"He is now doing well and trying to sort his life out," said Miss Fell.
