TV fans have been reacting to rumours former Wanderers and England manager Sam Allardyce is heading for the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! jungle.

The 63-year-old, who lives in Bromley Cross, is said to have been approached by bosses of the popular ITV show, according to national newspaper reports.

The jungle-based reality show returns on Sunday, November 19, as a fresh batch of contestants brave the stomach-churning camp challenges.

Other stars who have been tipped for a slot on the show include Coronation Street actress Jennie McAlpine, Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas, Made In Chelsea’s Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo, The Saturdays singer Vanessa White, Geordie Shore’s Charlotte Crosby, Celebrity Big Brother winner, Ex On The Beach star and Crosby's on-off boyfriend, Stephen Bear, Towie star Gemma Collins and Rebekah Vardy, wife of footballer Jamie Vardy.

But worlds away from a stint in the Australian jungle, Big Sam is currently odds-on favourite for the vacant job at Everton.

Writing on Twitter, Reece Hamilton said: “These I'm a celeb line up rumours are wild. How can you go from Sam Allardyce and Nigel Farage to Val from bake off and Tyson Fury? Madness”.

Sam said: “Dear Daily Mirror fans, if you believe the rumours of Sam Allardyce and Nigel Farage entering 'I'm A Celeb', I really worry for your future.”

Others are hopeful the rumour turns out to be true.

Kris said: “Sam Allardyce on I'm a celeb hahahaha omg please be true” and Kyle Pemberton wrote: “Would make my life if Sam Allardyce actually went in I'm a celeb”.
