THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (C2051 OULTON, C2043 ANTHORN, ACREDALES, ABBEYTOWN, U2002 BOWNESS-ON-SOLWAY AND U2I42 CUDDY LONNING, WIGTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2020

THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (C2051 OULTON, C2043 ANTHORN, ACREDALES, ABBEYTOWN, U2002 BOWNESS-ON-SOLWAY AND U2I42 CUDDY LONNING, WIGTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2020 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out highways works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:-

1. C205I Oulton: From its junction with the C2040 extending in a south westerly direction for approx 2km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C205I, C2050 (Waverbridge), B5302, A596 (Wigton) and C2040. Approx. Duration: 2 weeks (Ret G110/20/A327)

2. C2043 Anthorn: From its junction with the C2042 extending in a predominantly westerly direction for approx. 4.3km. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C2043, U2002 (Bowness-on-Solway) and C2042.



Approx. Duration: 2 weeks (Ref: G110/20/A328)

3. Acredales, Abbeytown: From its junction with the B5302 for its entirety.



There is no suitable alternative route available. Approx. Duration: 2 weeks (Ref: G110/20/A331)

4. U2002 Bowness-on-Solway: From a point adjacent to the property known as "Pasture House" extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 1.4km.



Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U2002 and C2042.

Approx. Duration: I week (Ref: GII0/20/A333)

5. U2142 Cuddy Lonning, Wigton: From a point adjacent to the property known as "Longthwaite Nook" extending in a south easterly direction for approx 90m.



Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U2I42, U2I38 andB5304.

Approx. Duration: I week (Ref: GII0/20/A335) The above works will not necessarily be done in numerical order. The contractor will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and



3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

The Order will come into operation on 24 August 2020 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 3 months in total and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
