The above named Order made on 4 August 2020 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 will divert the full width of that section of public footpath no 109097 at The Sands in the City of Carlisle from GR 340268 556500 southeastward* for about 47 metres to GR 340290 556458; to run from GR 340268 556500 curving eastwards for about 10 metres to GR 340277 556498; then southsoutheastwards for 6 metres to GR 340280 556492; then westsouthwestwards for 8 metres to GR 340275 556487 southwards across access road for 8 metres to GR 340276 556479; then south-southeastwards and south-southwestwards for about 27 metres to GR 340280 556454. The width of the new path will vary from 3.6 to 1.8 metres. Copies of the Order and map will be available at the offices of the Post Office, Scotch Street, Carlisle (ref 5.1.464). for further information. Any supporting statements or objections with respect to the Order can be sent in writing to the Countryside Access Team, (by post or email as addresses above) to be received not later than 4 September 2020 and should state the grounds on which they are made.
If no objections are duly made or if any so made are withdrawn the Cumbria County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State any objections which have not been withdrawn will be submitted with the Order. Chief Legal Officer
