Ali allowed to wear Gaza wristbands

Lancaster And Morecambe Citizen: England's Moeen Ali is being investigated for wearing wristbands during a Test match
England's Moeen Ali is being investigated for wearing wristbands during a Test match

England cricketer Moeen Ali can continue wearing wristbands declaring his support for the population of Gaza during the remainder of the third Investec Test against India, the ECB said.

The Birmingham-born all-rounder wore bands featured the slogans "Save Gaza" and "Free Palestine" while batting against India at the Ageas Bowl in Hampshire.

It is yet to become clear whether the International Cricket Council will take a dim view of practising Muslim Moeen's show of solidarity, or indeed issue any sanction under their code of conduct.

An initial response from the world governing body was that the matter will be "investigated".

The England and Wales Cricket Board was able to clarify, meanwhile, that it was unaware beforehand of Moeen's plans to wear the wristbands but will not be asking him to take them off.

A spokesman added: "We don't believe he has committed any offence."

The 27-year-old made 12 runs in England's 569 for seven declared on day two of the match.

Clearly your another challenged person with no concept of being compassionate and a decent human being.
So blowing innocent children up is fair game in your sicko world then? Do explain to us 'thick folk' how that is going to improve the situation and create the catalyst for peace? Have you even considered the current situation and what it would be like to survive in?

Greetings York, I don't think that is a good STRATEGIC Temporal move for Gaza. What if the end score for His them who is for Gaza is 0 to 7. That means that Gaza isn't Heaven & since it scored #0 it has no hope. Then his score could be 6 to 1, which would mean that the devil are bad guy has won but the opposite of the bad guy which is Heaven has lived to fight again. He should be happy with sneaking that one in, but that Cricket move is just to unstable a move for Gaza; The Officials told him. They also gave him CREDIT on his creativity, & let him know next time try to do it without putting yourself, The Game, Gaza, are Humanity in danger. The only thing that was in danger this time was Gaza's probability of coming off FOR ALL time looking like the bad guy Temporally. Now he will have to move much faster, cause the first time is always slow. That is how light moves, the amateurs will have to look really hard to see that one next time. I have to admit that I'm a amateur, I don't know any thing about Cricket. I'm still trying to figure out what the white clothes is for ?😱 I'm also Soooooo surprised to see somebody with his appearance on a Televised sport 😎. As U can see, I don't get out much. I'm always trapped in the America house.

this is a point many people are missing. Which is to condemn the acts of a countries government does not mean you condemn the populace.

I notice no-one who thinks Hamas are 'jolly, spiffing chaps' expresses any concern for the death penalty they impose upon LGBTQ Palestinians under their rule. Kind of gives the game away about their true political sympathies, doesn't it?

Really? Do enlighten us as to how you would resolve the conflict? Carpet bombing woman and children seems to be really working doesn't it. The only thing that Inhumane Israel has achieved is recruiting the next few generations of Hamas militia so a self defeating own goal.

The ones killed on the beach? or the ones in the school? or the ones in the hospital? i think you will find it was a precision IDF bomb that killed them.

Very good points! Let's not forget the illegal use of phosphorous munitions on the Gaza UN compound. I'm no supporter of Hamas but I'm struggling to determine who the terrorists are. Israel should hang their heads in shame and where is their humanity???

Whilst we are at it, why not someone mention the many thousands of "cluster bombs" (Geneva Convention and all that stuff) the Israelis deliberately carpet layered over South Lebanon in order to make it a no go area. Tell young kids it is a no-go area. They were dropped over 6 years ago and even today, kiddies are still getting blown up, killed and mutilated. Yeh, great people the Israelis, soft, civilised, humane and decent. An intelligent person however would call them what they are, an uncivilised, barbaric country who do not deserve to be part of an advanced, enlightened society. Then they wish to be part of Europe, they take part in the Eurovision Song Contest, they participate in the UEFA football contests and a few years ago the Israeli Belgian Ambassador said that nothing should stop Israel being part of Europe as they had every right to be. My god - we would be sinking into the depths if we allowed this country to be part of the EU.

I never knew they also deployed cluster munition too! I would like to see significant trade sanctions and seizure of assets made also they deserve to be removed from the UN since they can't abide by the UN organisation mandates.
When I read about the atrocities committed by Israel it makes me feel ashamed to be a human knowing that our weak moral lacking government like others on the planet who continue to do absolute nothing about the effective genocide of entrapped Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
