Church to stand in as Radio 2 DJ

Lancaster And Morecambe Citizen: Charlotte Church is to be a stand-in for Radio 2's Dermot O'Leary Charlotte Church is to be a stand-in for Radio 2's Dermot O'Leary

Singer Charlotte Church is turning DJ by becoming a guest presenter on BBC Radio 2.

The former child star, who reinvented herself as a pop act, is to be a stand-in for the station's Dermot O'Leary.

It comes as Martine McCutcheon becomes a temporary host on the network, replacing Paul O'Grady for his weekly shows.

Church, who has been vocal about press intrusion and the sexism of the music industry in recent years, will host her programme on Saturday July 26 at 3pm.

She said: "I'm really looking forward to standing in for Dermot O'Leary while he's away. I'm hugely passionate about all sorts of music and I can't wait to share some of my favourite tracks."

McCutcheon steps in tomorrow and the following Sunday for Paul O'Grady. Graham Norton will also be replaced over the summer by a number of stand-ins with John Bishop, Patrick Kielty and Lee Mack taking turns on the Saturday morning show.

A story about CC goes as follows:

Someone came up to her and slagged off her act, or her.

She said: "Come back when YOU can sing 'Ave * ng Maria', and THEN tell me I'm c * !"

Someone like that can do no wrong.

So, the fat drunken b*tch needs employment.

Have you noticed how she isn't being paid to sing by Radio Two?

The studio is a no-smoking zone...what's the betting the songs she chooses are all 15 minutes long? Gives her time to nip outside, right?

And when I say 'nip', I mean waddle.....
