Enfield wicketkeeper Ash Gowers made 25 as he played for Lancashire seconds in their drawn game with Northamptonshire this week.

Gowers, whose uncle is Middlesex and former Haslingden wicketkeeper John Simpson, kept well for the Red Rose in the game at Milton Keynes and made his unbeaten 25 as Lancashire secured maximum batting points from the game.

It was, however, wrecked by the rain with the final day a complete washout yesterday.
