READ’S Oliver Newby is included in the Lancashire squad as the Red Rose go in seach of a first four-day win of the season.
The fast bowler in named in Peter Moores’ 14-man squad for the County Championship Division One game with Middlesex at Aigburth.
If Newby is selected he will be ruled out of Read’s Ribblesdale League game with Clitheroe on Saturday.
Chorley’s Tom Smith is still sidelined with a hamstring problem but skipper Glen Chapple has recovered from a side strain.
But there is no place in the 14 for former Rishton pro Andrea Agathangelou despite a string of strong displays in Lancashire seconds.
Middlesex include former Haslingden wicketkeeper John Simpson.
