BURNLEY Reserves defied a breakdown to motor to a late win at Macclesfield Town.

The young Clarets twice went behind after a delayed start but Shay McCartan and David Lynch got them back in it before Medhi Lazaar put them ahead with just over 30 minutes to go.

Macclesfield, who took the lead through Matt Hamshaw and Colin Daniel, thought they had salvaged a point when John Grant struck a late equaliser.

But Jason Blake’s side kept going and reaped their rewards as Lazaar turn provider for Adam Evans to clinch it for Burnley in the last minute.
