BURNLEY cricket star James Anderson was left out of England's final tour match against South Africa 'A' on Tuesday as a precautionary measure after suffering some soreness in his right knee.
However, the Lancashire fast bowler is expected to be fit for the visitors' first Twenty20 international against the Proteas on Friday.
Sajid Mahmood and Tim Bresnan will lead the England attack when they get to bowl after captain Paul Collingwood lost the toss and was asked to bat first.
Anderson joins the growing list of England pacemen currently struggling with minor injuries - both Graham Onions (back) and Stuart Broad (shoulder) are still absent - while regular captain Andrew Strauss, who no longer plays international 20-over cricket, also misses the encounter at the OUTsurance Oval.
