SAMMY McIlroy was a happy man after Morecambe battled to a point at Barnet on Saturday.
The Shrimps came from behind to earn a draw thanks to Diarmuid O’Carroll’s wonder goal just before the break.
They then dug deep as they defended with their lives as Barnet surged down the Underhill slope to preserve their point.
“I will take that,” says McIlroy. “It was a battle; it is always a battle at places like Barnet and they are fighting for their lives.
“I thought we defended so well and deserved the point.”
Of O’Carroll’s stunner, the manager adds: “It was special.”
