BURNLEY have made a promising start to life under new manager Owen Coyle.
The Clarets, sporting pale blue and white striped shirts in this game to mark their 125th anniversary, dominated possession and chances from the kick-off.
Andy Gray should have scored inside the first minute after good work by Wade Elliott down the right, but the leading scorer's shot was too tame to trouble Steve Simonsen.
Further chances fell to Kyle Lafferty, Chris McCann, David Unsworth, Elliott and Alan Mahon, who forced a brilliant save from Simonsen with a volley from the edge of the box just before the break.
Gabor Kiraly's only save came a minute from half-time as he palmed away Rory Delap's shot.
