AN 80-year-old Blackburn Rovers FA Cup final programme - which cost six old pennies - was sold for almost £1,000 at an auction in London.
Before the sale, at Graham Budd Auctions, at Sotheby's Olympia, experts accurately predicted the programme, for the 1928 Blackburn versus Huddersfield FA Cup final, would sell for between £800 and £1,000.
In the end it fetched £920. The buyer successfully bid £800, but must also pay an extra £120 to the auctioneers in buyers' premium.
The game, which Rovers won 3-1, was the last time the club won the FA Cup.
