BARNOLDSWICK reignited their survival hopes in the Ribblesdale League with a convincing win over Padiham.

Barlick remain in the bottom two of the Section A table but have cut the gap to Padiham after earning victory by nearly 200 runs on Saturday.

Chalana De Silva was Barnoldswick’s match-winner as he made 73 at the top of the order in a total of 271-5. He then took a hat-trick with the ball in figures of 7-33 to secure the points.

The title race looks like a two-horse race between Settle and Oswaldtwitsle Immanuel after both secured narrow wins at the weekend.

Defending champions Settle beat third-placed Read. Sadrian Ward (39) and Tom Davidson (27) helped Settle to 141 all out after they had been reduced to 59-5.

Read suffered a similarly slow start in reply and were 61-5 and despite Bailey Richards hitting 32 they were dismissed for 130 with Ward (5-58) and Callum Lockett (5-35) taking the wickets.

Ossie kept the pressure on with a two-run success against Baxenden.

Shubham Khajuria hit 69 in a total of 124 all out as Jack Sudworth took 4-62.

Baxenden looked to be in pole position at 86-2 but Matthew Cook claimed 6-10 to turn the match on its head and bowl the visitors for 122. Abar Hamed top scored with 45.

Cherry Tree and Brinscall remain in pole position in Section B after the two sides secured comfortable wins.

Jake Willacy hit 155 not out and Stefan Klopper made 55 as Cherry Tree posted 307-3 against Feniscowles with the home side bowled out for 145 in reply as Klopper took six wickets. Ruane Kotze made 50 for Feniscowles.

Stuart Parker made 93 not out off just 59 balls to lead Brinscall to a daunting 326-5. Sam MacLachlan was also in the runs with an unbeaten 69 off 38 balls.

Earby slipped to 9-5 in reply before being bowled out for 87. Lee Burgess took 8-24.

Whalley overcame Euxton by three wickets with Stuart Crabtree making an unbeaten 46 and Mark Fallon hitting 44 as they successfully chased Euxton’s 175 all out. Aneeq Hassan made a half century for the visitors.

The day’s other game saw Salesbury beat Ribblesdale Wanderers by 33 runs.
