THIS weekend's Lancashire League fixtures will start at 10am - if England reach the World Cup final.

Gareth Southgate's side face Croatia on Wednesday night for a place in Sunday's final. The 4pm kick off time would clash with the Lancashire League programme and so games will start in the morning in a bid to finish before the last four tie.

Lancashire League chairman Mike Bibby said: "After discussions with the majority of the executive and of course, only if England reach the final, Sunday’s fixtures will commence at 10am.

"The 2nd XI fixtures will be the same but as was agreed last Saturday, they can play a reduced over game with the agreement of the opposition and the umpires.

"It would help to speed up the games if teams ensured they bowl their overs in as short a time as is possible.

"It is up to clubs to try and ensure games are completed by 4pm but games must be finished before leaving the field and not continued after the football. This should allow most to watch the football with minimum disruption to our fixtures."

The Ribblesdale League have already agreed to postpone their Ramsbottom Cup matches scheduled for Sunday and play them on the reserve date of July 22 should England reach the final.
