RIBBLESDALE League leaders Settle recorded an extraordinary 440-8 in their weekend win over Barnoldswick to remain top of the Section A table.

Opener William Davidson led the way with 163 off 91 balls including 15 fours and 11 sixes. He put on 140 for the second wicket with Jack Harrison who hit 128. Robbie Davidson pushed the score on making 49 off only 25 balls as Settle posted the highest score of the season.

Barnoldswick, facing an almost impossible task made a creditable 217-9 with Amir Saddique (51) and Majid Inayat (54) the main contributors.

Settle are 11 points clear of Oswaldtwistle Immanuel who remain in second after a 111-run win over Padiham.

Ossie pro Shubhan Khajuria smashed 111 off 87 balls in a total of 211all out. Toby Burrows took 4-56 and Tom Shirtcliffe 4-18 for Padiham who never got going in reply and were bowled out for 110.

Burrows top scored with 22 while there were three wickets apiece for Khajuria, Andreas Sudnik and Andrew Metcalf.

Read are third after notching their own high score thanks to Matt Walker's 161. Michael Whalley also made a century (107) as they posted 375-4.

In reply, Whalley never looked like challenging the total despite a partnership of 97 for the fourth wicket between Declan Bailey (72) and Robbie Read (43). The visitors finished on 219-7 and lost by 156 runs.

Cherry Tree are top of Section B after a 59-run win over Salesbury.

Nas Iqbal made 65 and Mark Hadfield 48 as the leaders posted 199-6. In reply Salesbury never looked like chasing down the target despite 52 from Hashen Ramanayake and 32 from Liam Parkinson as they were bowled out for 140.

Hadfield took 3-40 to complete a fine afternoon.

An opening stand of 117 proved crucial for Ribblesdale Wanderers as they saw off Euxton in a close contest.

Mack Spencer made 97 and Andrew Needham 42 at the top of the order as Wanderers posted 216-8 with Aneeq Hassan taking 4-34.

In reply. Hassan's 103 kept Euxton in the hunt and they needed six of the last two balls with just one wicket remaining but Jacob Meredith was run out to hand the home side the points.

Brinscall's good form continued as they eased to a seven-wicket victory at Baxenden.

The home side were bowled out for just 93 with Ben Brierley hitting 35. Josh Andrew (4-31) and Sehan Weerasinghe (4-11) did most of the damage and the visitors knocked off the target with 25 overs to spare to remain hot on the heels of Cherry Tree at the top of the Section B table.

Earby collected a valuable win as they beat Feniscowles by 45 runs in the day's other game.
