DEFENDING Lancashire League T20 champions Clitheroe hit a competition record to book their spot in finals day and keep alive their hopes of retaining the title.

Peter Dibb's superb 105 from 58 balls anchored a total of 256-2 against Walsden while professional Fawad Alam hit 89 off 41 balls and Thomas Lord made 46 off 21 balls.

The league leaders made a decent fist in reply as Joe Gale bludgeoned 66 off 24 balls while professional Umesh Karunaratne added 65 from 45 balls as the pair put on 118 for third wicket.

But Alam broke that partnership before Sam Halstead took 4-45 as Walsden were bowled out for 190.

Finals day will take place at Ramsbottom on Sunday, July 29 after Tom Parton's side beat Enfield by nine wickets at Acre Bottom.

The visitors were bowled out for just 91 with professional Shash Pussegolla top scoring with 52.

Dale Gabriel took 3-14 for the hosts while Rammy professional Werner Coetsee took 3-8 and then hit 35 not out to help his side reach their target. Simon Hanson finished 44 not out.

Burnley reached finals day for the first time as they swept aside Crompton.

The visitors were dismissed for just 81 with Chris Holt taking 3-4 and Cole Hayman 2-6.

In reply the home side cantered to victory with Holt making 41 and professional Asif Zakir 33 not out.

Darwen complete the line up after they saw off Bacup.

Reece Willets top scored with 42 while Ammer Mirza added 39 as the home side made 193-5 at Birch Hall.

Simon Newbitt gave the visitors hope with 73 off 53 balls while professional Ernest Kemm made 22 but Bacup were restricted to 134-6.
