TIM Farragher gave a captain’s performance to guide Bacup to victory at Rishton and reach a major Lancashire League milestone.

Farragher top scored with 81 to pass the 6,000 run mark as Bacup sealed their second win of the season.

The captain hit nine fours in Bacup’s 222-9 total with Aaron Fielding (31) and Matt Schofield (47) both contributing.

Matt Lambert was the pick of the Rishton bowlers taking 5-29.

Rishton were then bowled out of 137 with professional Mansoor Amjad top scoring with 58. Sam Lord (4-29) and Matt Aspinall (3-41) did most of the damage.

Calvin Savage scored a stunning unbeaten 170 as last season’s runners-up, Darwen, beat champions Clitheroe at Birch Hall.

The Darwen paid man hit 13 fours and 11 sixes as the home side closed on 291-5. Mark Friend scored 50 with Sam Halstead (3-43) the best of the bowlers. In reply, Clitheroe pro Fawad Alam ended unbeaten on 94 as the visitors closed on 230-9.

New boys Norden eased to a 10-wicket win at Nelson.

Batting, first Nelson were bowled out for 110 - Greg Butterworth (5-26) the pick up the visiting bowlers - then unbeaten knock of 62 by Josh Tolley and 43 from Harvey Fitton eased Norden to victory.

Middleton won their first Lancashire League game against Colne in a low scoring contest at Towncroft.

The home side were bowled out for 139 with Chris Walton (3-31)and professional James Price (3-36) the pick of the Colne bowlers.

In reply, Colne were bowled out for 109 with Price top scoring with 24. Dale Highton took 6-35 off his 11 overs.

Great Harwood professional Ashen Silva hit an unbeaten 117 to seal victory at Rawtenstall.

Hamza Qayoom (57) played his part at Great Harwood closed on 254-4.

In replay, Rawtenstall professional Keegan Petersen top scored with 87 with George Bevan (46) also among the runs as the home side were bowled out for 208.

Burnley enjoyed a 194 win over Haslingden scoring a season’s best 332-5.

Professional Asif Zakir top scored with 77 with Liam Bedford (58), Chris Holt (54) and Qasim Shah (49) all contributing.

Haslingden were dismissed for 138, Graham Knowles (20) their top scorer while Holt followed up his fine innings by taking 4-47.

Accrington beat Littleborough by 60 runs at Thorneyholme Road.

Jon Hayhurst scored 51 and Alex Jakeman 47 as Accrington were bowled out for 166 - Ryan Miskella (4-44), Littleborough’s best bowler.

Ross Brown was in superb form with the ball, taking 6-15 off nine overs as Littleborough were bowled out for 106.

Elsewhere, East Lancs won at Church, Lowerhouse were beaten at home by Ramsbottom and Enfield got the better of Milnrow.

Leaders Walsden beat Rochdale and Crompton defeated Todmorden.
