DARWEN are determined to put pressure on the top two, and at the same time get revenge on Clitheroe.

The two were neck and neck for the Lancashire League title in their debut seasons, with Clitheroe clinching it in the end.

The two go head to head at Birch Hall in the match of the day, with Darwen third and Clitheroe sixth.

Having lost top spot last weekend, Accrington have the chance to close the 10-point gap if they can win at home to Littleborough, one of the seven Lancashire League newcomers.

There is familiarity for Haslingden, who host Burnley at Bentgate, and Church, who are at home to East Lancs, while Bacup travel to Rishton, who are looking for their first win of the season. They are the only side to have lost all four of their opening games and sit bottom with two points.

Colne venture into new Lancashire League territory when they travel to take on former Central Lancashire League side Middleton, and the same goes for Enfield, who are away to Milnrow.

Middleton had to wait until last weekend’s game at East Lancs for their first win, while Milnrow have yet to record a win over an established Lancashire League team.

Norden are at Nelson, who recovered from defeat to Darwen to beat Bacup last weekend.

Struggling Rawtenstall will look to use their home game against Great Harwood to get their season going. Great Harwood are just two points clear of the Rossendale side, with both having just one league win under their belts.

Todmorden entertain Crompton, while Walsden host Rochdale.
