ACCRINGTON Stanley man-ager John Coleman has revealed he wants another five new faces at the Fraser Eagle Stadium before the start of the season.

But the Reds boss, who has turned down a deal to sign a mystery Scottish defender until he can prove his fitness, said he is not going to sign players just for the sake of it.

Coleman said: "It's been frustrating, but it's something that we've just got to get on with. I could go out and sign 20 players tomorrow, but they wouldn't be the right ones."

Stanley have already signed goalkeeper Kenny Arthur, midfielder Paul Carden and strikers John Miles and Roscoe D'Sane.

But, as the players returned today for pre-season training, Coleman has made signing at least one defender a top priority.

And he is hoping to have an answer for on loan target Godwin Antwi soon.

He added: "We need two defenders and we'd like to sign Godwin for another year, we're just waiting for Liverpool to get back to us now. Obviously for everyone's sake it would be better to get it sorted sooner rather than later."
