Wigan have completed the £300,000 transfer of goalkeeper Carlo Nash on a two-year deal from Preston.
The 33-year-old, who played for Clitheroe and Rossendale United, was put on the transfer list at the end of the season, having fallen out with North End boss Paul Simpson for publicly asking for a move to Fulham in January.
Nash spent two months on loan at the JJB Stadium at the tail end of last season without making an appearance for the Latics.
The two clubs agreed a fee last week and Nash has sorted out personal terms after returning from his honeymoon.
He will do battle with Chris Kirkland and Mike Pollitt to be Chris Hutchings' first-choice.
