BESART Berisha is desperate for his move to Burnley to get the go-ahead, according to his agent Henner Janzen.

The Albanian international is waiting for the outcome of tomorrow's work permit hearing before letting the celebrations of securing a three-year deal with the Clarets begin.

Berisha, who scored his first international goal against England B at Turf Moor last month - where Burnley manager Steve Cotterill first became aware of him, has struggled to put down roots since his professional football career began at Tennis Borussia Berlin in 2003.

He was quickly snapped up by Hamburg for the start of the 2004/05 season, during which he was loaned out to Danish club Aalborg Boldspilklub and then fellow Superliga side AC Horsens the following term, where he scored 11 goals in 31 app-earances.

But now the 21-year-old wants to make East Lancashire his home after setting his heart on a move to Turf Moor when a fee of £340,000 was agreed with Hamburg.

"He had other options but he is very keen on coming to Burnley and he is very much looking forward to the opportunity," said Janzen.

"We had a conversation with the head coach (manager) that was very positive.

"Several clubs in England were interested and Bundesliga sides. Also, from his time in Denmark, he is a big name in Scandanavia and he was contacted by several clubs there too. As well as that, one French club was interested but there was nothing concrete there.

"He had played for the national team at Burnley against England B.

"British football is always on over here in Germany so he has a good knowledge of English football.

"It is true football, and he liked it very much when he was in Burnley. He had a feeling people accepted the way he was playing.

"He liked the stadium, he liked the place, and he told me immediately that it would be a good step for him - and that was even before we spoke to Burnley.

"When he heard he had the chance to go there he wanted to do it immediately."

Berisha's future now rests with a panel made up of Home Office officials and representatives from the Football Association, Football League and Professional Footballers' Association, who will go over the evidence to support the Kosovo-born wide man's case to play in England.

In recent years, Burnley's bids for Luton Shelton, from Jamaican club Harbour View, and Macedonia international Artim Sakiri, from CSKA Sofia, have been blocked because they didn't meet the Home Office criteria which states that the player in question must have played for his country in at least 75 per cent of its competitive 'A' team matches he was available for selection, during the two years preceding the date of the application, and that the player's country must be at or above 70th place in the official FIFA world rankings when averaged over the two years preceding the date of the application.

Berisha has played in four competitive Albania inter-nationals since qualifying for selection in September 2006, while the team has climbed to 69th in the FIFA world rankings.

Clarets boss Cotterill said: "I think we have prepared as well as we can.

"This time, one of the integral parts is the whole package of the player.

"We have paid a fee for Besart, but also the length of the players' contract will hopefully determine things and we are hopeful of a favourable outcome."
