Shabani Nonda has vowed to put his Bayer Leverkusen nightmare behind him and help fire Blackburn Rovers into the last eight of the FA Cup.

The DR Congo international was guilty of missing a late chance against the Germans as Rovers crashed out of the UEFA Cup.

But he bounced back from that disappointment in style by bagging a double to beat Portsmouth on Sunday.

And he is looking to add to his tally when the Gunners come calling tomorrow night.

He said: "That's what happens when you're a striker. Sometimes you miss, sometimes you score, and I got lucky for my second goal because they fought for it and I got the goal easily.

"That is football. Sometimes they go in for you, sometimes they don't."

Nonda, who is on a season-long loan deal from Roma, has scored seven league goals this season, and was part of the Rovers side that earned a draw at the Emirates Stadium earlier in the month.

And he saw no reason why they couldn't go one better in front of a packed crowd at Ewood Park and set up a quarter-final clash with Manchester City.

He added: "We've got a chance. We're playing at home.

"They're a good side, we know that, but maybe we'll fight more than we did against Leverkusen.

"We had a chance to go through but we didn't really fight for it like we know we can.

"So if we fight enough against Arsenal then we have a chance.

"They're a good team, we respect them, but we're at home and we'll have our fans with us.

"It is 50/50 but we will attack them, that's sure."
