Suffragist Millicent Fawcett has been honoured in Parliament Square in London – the first female figure to be recognised in the public outside the Palace of Westminster.
Following a campaign which started two years ago, and a work schedule which lasted seven months, the statue of a woman described by Prime Minister Theresa May as an “inspiration to us all” has been revealed.
